A massive weather system drove record -- truly massive --- wildfires all along the west coast. The same weather system pushed into Utah with hurricane force winds across the state. Different sources report wind gust speeds from 97 to 120Mph, equaling a Category 2 hurricane. Trees and utility poles are down all over the place. I lost power for about 24 hours, and some friends are still shut off after more than four days.
Destructive windstorm slams Utah with gusts to 100 mph
It’s part of the same weather system responsible for the snowstorm in the Rockies and the fire siege along the West Coast.
