The inevitable conspiracy theories, denialism, and defeatism are boiling up. People are rejecting social distance policies and being loud about it. A few days ago, my friend was harassed for wearing a face mask in a grocery store. Churches insist on holding services. And people are concentrating to protest at government buildings. Denialists have a weird tendency to get aggressive about their anti-opinions, whether it's coal-rolling diesel trucks or anti-vaxxers or covid conspiracists. The social-distancing deniers have arrived
Patience is in ever-shorter supply. No one is happy with the current situation. But some Americans see the yoke of oppression in public health efforts to keep people home, and they're growing louder.
